Pastor - The Congregation of Webster Congregational Christian Church/UCC has called the Reverend Ellen Witko to serve as their spiritual leader and counselor. Reverend Witko is a resident of Queenstown, MD but will reside in our community several days a week. She is a graduate of the Theological School at Drew University, Madison, NJ and most recently served a UCC Church in Brookside, NJ. She has extensive experience in Christian Education for all age groups, including Sunday School, Adult Ed and Youth Groups/ Activities. She is enthusiastic about serving Webster and the larger community and expresses this in her Statement of Faith: "What an exciting adventure it is to be the "People of God!"
Moderator - Ann Helton Serves as Moderator of Webster Church and in that capacity she acts as the chief executive of the Church and presides at all meetings of the Congregation and the Board. Ann, and her husband Art, are active in stewardship and fund-raising efforts, also, she is currently President of the CASA (Court-appointed Special Advocate) Board for the Circuit Court and is Past-President of the Harford Land Trust. Ann and Art have a small farm where they raise sheep and enjoy their five children and six grandchildren.
Directors of Christian Education - Susan Cohen and Heidi Pensell have co-chaired the Christian Education Ministry for six years. They select the curriculum for our young people, often participate in the Children’s' sermon during services and help children fully engage in the life and rites of the Church. They also organize nursery services for parents who want to enjoy Sunday service in the sanctuary. And fun events for the children are always on their agenda. Susan has two children and Heidi, three, who are active members in the Sunday School Community.
Music Director - Originally from Baltimore County, Gwen has been a member of Webster Church for more than 30 years. In that time she has enjoyed singing with the choir and periodically acting as Choir Director and Music Director, the position she holds today. She is a retired Special Educator who worked at Havre de Grace Elementary School for nearly 20 years, and the owner of Gifts by Gwen, a craft company specializing in needlework of all kinds.
Organist - Neil Fung is currently a Music Major at Harford Community College with piano as his major instrument. He began his piano studies at age eight and began singing in the choir at age fourteen while attending the Baltimore School for the Arts. Neil has been the Webster Church organist since 2008, arriving here at age 15. His immediate career goals are to continue to improve his performance as a pianist and organist, fine tune his composition skills and expand his knowledge of psychology.
